Rich has 30 years of experience working
in advertising, marketing and public relations on
national, regional and local levels. In the 11 years
previous to founding Carlson Communications in 1989,
Rich worked in senior management positions for three
prominent real estate developers in New England
and Texas, specializing in residential marketing
and sales. Highlights of Rich's career include:
Sales and marketing
of $31 million of single-family homes and condominiums
in 1987-89 for one of Massachusetts' largest
developers and land owners. Responsibilities ranged
from the management of a 12-person sales team to
all advertising, on-site marketing and public relations
for the company's eight residential developments.
Establishing and managing a seven-person in-house
advertising department for The Flatley Company, one
of New England' s largest commercial developers.
Responsibilities included the creation and execution
of a multimedia $3 million marketing campaign for
the company' s 12 hotels and corporate public
relations.
Marketing and sales of more than 6,000 residential
building home sites in Houston, Texas for First General
Realty Company, one of Houston' s oldest and
most respected land developers. The sites were sold
to local and national home builders including Pulte
Homes, Ryan Homes, Standard Pacific Homes, General
Homes, and Gemcraft Homes.
Rich
earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Public Relations
from Boston University and a Master of Arts Degree
in Communications from The University of Texas at
Austin. In 2000 he received his MIRM designation
as a member of the National Association of Home
Builder's Institution of Residential Marketing.
Rich is an avid sailor, golfer, runner and photographer.
